With over 25 years of real estate experience on four islands, Deb grew up in Kailua, and was first trained as a Realtor by her retired Army Colonel father.
After working as a Hawaiiana and collectibles appraiser in Honolulu and San Francisco, an editor in New York City, and with a nonprofit in Europe, she returned home to help her ‘ohana and decided to build on Big Island. With a high school and papaya plantation family background in Kapoho, it was the right place to resettle in 2002. Going back into real estate and retraining in a more tech environment as an agent and broker, Deb found her ideal client advocate and adviser niche. After an O’ahu based sojourn training agents and working on development, she came back to Hilo full time to focus on her passion, working with individual Buyers and Sellers. Obtaining certifications to work with military, senior, first time Buyer and Seller clients, she holds the Certified Residential Specialist designation, held by less than 5% of agents. One repeat client impacted by the 2018 lava flow calls her the “Realtor Whisperer” due to her resolution to calmly handle of any situation or problem which might arise in a transaction.
